If you will be visiting us from out of town, we welcome you to the Florida Plastic Surgery Institute and beautiful central Florida! With easy internet accessibility around the world, we are seeing a significant and steady increase of patients that come to us for their surgery that reside out of town, state, and out of the country.

We ask that patients visiting from out of town fill out
patient information forms and send them back to us via fax at (407) 352-1814 or email at
pcfpsi@cfl.rr.com.
Please describe your surgical goals, and send us up-to-date digital photographs (via email) of the areas you are concerned. with so Dr. Prevel can evaluate your condition prior to meeting you in person. The photographs needed are front views, and both side views, as well as back views for certain procedures. Photos must be taken in front of a solid color background.
Here at the Florida Plastic Surgery Institute, we have had patients from all over the globe that have come for different procedures, all with successful outcomes. We understand that there are different factors involved in traveling abroad/ out of town for a plastic surgery procedure so put together the following guide to help you in your planning.
About Initial Consultations
- There are two scenarios when it comes to our out of town patients. Those that can travel in for a face to face initial consultation and those who are too far away so must do so via email/phone. Either way it can be done.
- If you are one of those who can actually come in for a consultation, we will make you a priority, and accommodate our schedule to fit your dates. On the consultation day you will meet with Dr. Prevel to go over your desired procedure. You will leave the office with a package specially made for you with all important information including a price quote. The package will also include the list of the necessary pre-operative medical clearances, which can be done by your own doctor. Should you need help with this step do not hesitate to contact the office staff.
- In the event that traveling in town for your consultation is not an option, we have had great success at doing email/phone consultations. In that case however, Dr. Prevel must have your photos so that he can better address your needs. Once we have received the photos (via email) and your completed patient information forms, we can either mail or fax out a package specially made for you with all important information including a price quote. The package will also include the list of the necessary pre- operative medical clearances, which can be done by your own doctor. The patient coordinator will be available to answer any questions that you may have via phone or email whichever is more convenient for you.
- Once you have received the quote and all your information, the next step would be picking a date for your surgery. Locking in a date requires an initial deposit of 20% and that can be done over the phone with a credit card. We do not accept credit cards on the day of surgery so you will need to make arrangements for your final payment prior to your actual surgery date. This is due to the fact that we want you to focus on your surgery and not have any possible financial complications at the last minute. There are many different options such as financing and other forms of payments that can be discussed once you have finalized your decision.
- We will need the blood work as well as medical clearance to arrive before the surgery date. These results need to be within 30 days of surgery for Male patients and within 7 days of surgery for Female patients (due to pregnancy testing). Dr. Prevel will review the results to make sure you are ready for surgery. Depending on your age and procedure there may be different requirements. We will do everything to help you with this process. Safety is our highest priority!
- When planning for your surgery you also need to consider where you are going to stay and who will be taking care of you. Whether the procedure is going to be performed on an out patient basis in the surgical center or on an overnight basis in the hospital, a friend/family member will be needed for transportation.
Your plastic surgery experience can be improved with a little advance planning. There is so much to consider at this exciting time, but be sure to work closely with the Florida Plastic Surgery Institute Staff and Dr. Prevel to keep your surgery process a successful and smooth experience from beginning to end. A well planned recovery can increase your safety, comfort, peace of mind and speed of healing. Speak to Dr. Prevel about any unusual post surgery recovery conditions, any possible complications that might arise, and the expected recovery period. As with any surgery, some swelling, discomfort and bruising is expected. Your specific procedure and individual circumstances will determine what you can expect from your successful recovery.
How Long Should I stay in Orlando?
Here are some general timelines when figuring out your minimum stay in town with us. Doctor Prevel will advise his staff when to schedule the initial post-op visit. Most of the times he will want to see you the next day. Please keep in mind that these can change depending your own personal healing process:
- Breast Augmentation: 7 days (out patient surgery).
- Tummy Tuck: 14 days (overnight stay in hospital required for standard and extended). This procedure varies greatly depending of the size of the tummy tuck, whether it would be a mini, standard, or extended, so please discuss it with the doctor during your consultation.
- Liposuction: 7 days (out patient surgery).
- Breast Lift / Breast Reduction: 10 days (out patient surgery). All sutures used on breast surgeries are dissolvable. The doctor will need to evaluate your individual healing progress before clearing you to travel. Breast size and conditions vary greatly.
- Eyelid Surgery: 7 days (out patient surgery).
- Whenever traveling long distances, talk to the Patient Coordinator and Dr. Prevel about special instructions for each procedure to minimize complications and discomfort with traveling after surgery. If the procedure you are interested in is not listed on this page, please contact us for more information.
