The Florida Plastic Surgery Institute welcomes the opportunity to provide cosmetic Plastic Surgical care to visitors from Europe, South America, Central America, Asia, Africa, New Zealand and Australia. Due to the distance and time constraints of travel as well as the differences in health care delivery systems around the world, The Florida Plastic Surgery Institute has established pre-operative and post-operative guidelines for our patients. These include the following:
Following initial consultation with Dr. Prevel, a pre-operative medical evaluation will be undertaken by an Internal Medicine (MD) Physician affiliate, with the Florida Plastic Surgery Institute. Please bring any relevant medical records for review at the time of your medical evaluation.
Based upon this pre-operative medical evaluation, laboratory studies will be ordered based upon the criteria listed in Table A.
Any newly diagnosed medical disorder or pre-existing medical condition poorly controlled will require treatment prior to surgery.
If the pre-operative medical evaluation is normal, a second pre-operative visit (at no charge) with Dr. Prevel is scheduled 24 hours prior to surgery. All last minute questions are answered and detailed procedure specific pre-operative and post-operative instructions will be provided at that time.
General pre-operative and post-operative instructions for the Florida Plastic Surgery Institute are documented in Table B.
A minimum post-operative stay of seven (7) to fourteen (14) days in Central Florida is necessary before returning home. This ensures that we can provide adequate post-operative care. Yearly post-operative surgical consultations are provided to all patients, at no charge, who undergo surgical treatment at The Florida Plastic Surgery Institute.
Please contact us by e-mail or phone for any questions that you may have regarding these instructions.
